About 50 years ago, Yanagase was very big street.
Every day there is crowded and always bustled.

Famous singer Kenichi Mikawa was sung Yanagase.

The furniture made in Takayama is made by Hida sugi.
Takayama's furnitures are handmade so it is good and little expensive.
Takayama's farmers breeding Hidagyu. Hidagyu is very delicious.

Details don't turn out that when people began to live in Shirakawago.
When middle of Edo era, Sericultural industry became active.
People want to get space to the industry in their house, so they were built Gasshouzukuri.

Gasshouzukuri's roof's Longevity is 30 years from roughly 50 years.
When changing roof, people in the village cooperate, the role is allotted and it works jointly.
It is called "Yui".

and the upper reaches of a river that was called the lower part of a river side that was called
Shimosirakawago among those a Shirakawamura and the above Shirakawago become a Shokawamura

I'd like to introducing about Shirakawago.
Shirakawago is in the Hida Shirakawamura Gifu prefecture Japan.
Area size is 356.55 km/2 and there is surroundede many mountains.
Shirakawago's population is 1,864.A few people lives in there.
A lot of snows get off in Shirakawago.Sometimes the snow crushes the building.
